He then bought it with two partners a year later for $3000. As Editor-In-Chief and co-owner over much of the following decades, he led The Onion from small college newspaper to internationally recognized humor brand, expanding it into radio, books, the Internet, TV and movies.

Scott helped found The Onion
newspaper in 1988
Under his guidance, The Onion produced several best-selling books, amassed millions of fans on social media, and fooled a few too many world leaders into thinking its outlandish stories were real news.
